Game Knight
November 27th, 2023
The Vegas Golden Knights are set to face off against the Calgary Flames in what promises to be an exciting game on Monday evening.
For those attending the game, keep an eye on our Instagram story. We have a special meetup planned for the EGC goalies who will be there.
Details about the meeting location will be shared in our story. Plus, there's a bonus – Adin and Logan will be stopping by to say hi after the game.
Coming to Calgary
August 8th, 2023
Mark it in your calendars, Adin Hill & Logan Thompson are bringing Lord Stanley to Cardel Rec South on August 8th from 2 to 4pm.
Unfortunately, due to NHL/NHLPA rules, neither goalie is allowed to sign autographs during the event, but they can take pictures.
The two goalies will be vising the Children’s Hospital in the morning before the event, and would like to use the opportunity to raise money for its foundation. Any donations at the event would be highly appreciated.
We hope to see you all then!

Welcome to The Round-Up!
Rebound is a mini-game that is played on a regular basis between goalies, their coaches and teammates after finishing a training session. Winning the competition typically rewards the victor with bragging rights, until the next challenge. Rebound is as ingrained in the hockey culture as the Stampede is to Calgary.
The Calgary Stampede, billed as the “Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth”, was instituted in 1886 to celebrate the pioneer culture of Alberta and Western Canada. It symbolizes the Community Spirit and the belief that We’re Greatest Together.
Our goal in this 1st held Rebound Round-Up is to embody the community and cultural spirit of our favourite game, by bringing hockey players of all backgrounds together to participate in a fun and competitive environment, while simultaneously helping hockey grow.
All profits from the event will be donated to support KidSport Calgary in their effort to cover the cost of fees in organized sports for families, allowing kids to experience the joys of being part of a team, the highs of winning after a hard fought battle, the pain of a loss, and the responsibility that comes with being a good teammate.
Hockey is a game that we all love and are care for. Its intensity, speed and physicality makes it a sport like no other. Unfortunately, due to the cost of equipment, ice rental and training, the barrier to entry is much steeper than most other sports.
KidSports’ mandate is to raise funds to get local kids off the sidelines and into the game. In 2020, the organization distributed over $828,000 back into the sports community, helping over 2,570 kids in Calgary & surrounding area.
In our Rebound Round-Up tournament, half of the money raised will go towards KidSport, while the second half will be won by the top team of each tournament division.
For each of the four divisions, we estimate a total of $400 will be donated to KidSport, while the same amount will be distributed to the championship team, assuming all divisions are full. We are hoping to raise at a minimum $2,000 over the course of the day.
While the tournament is under way inside, in the parking lot area, a BBQ with burgers and hot dogs will be held between the hours of 11am & 2pm for everyone attending the event.
The event will be held at the Hockey Hub, Calgary’s newest hockey training facility, who were ecstatic to host the competition. The Hockey Hub prides themselves as a “community-first” business, making them the perfect host for this endeavour.
We look forward to seeing all participants on July 16th!
-Team EGC
Registration
A team consists of one goalie and two shooters.
Registration will be split into four divisions, U13 - U15 - U17 - Pro
Teams must register in the division of their eldest member.
Example: If a goalie plays U13, and has a U15 shooter, this team shall register in the U15 division.
Registration cost of $150.00 will be collected before the tournament begins
Tournament Format
The tournament format will consist of a round robin, with each team playing every other team registered within their pool.
Standings will be based on a scoring format where the winning team receives 2 points, and the losing team receives 0.
In the event of a tie in points, goal differential shall be used as the first tiebreaker. The team with the highest goal differential will be ranked higher
In the event of tie in goal differential, a tie-break game to 3 points will be played, in which the winner will be ranked higher
Once the rankings from the round robin are complete, teams will compete in a single elimination, bracket style playoff format. Top ranked seeds will play bottom ranked seeds, depending on how many teams sign up. If the division has an uneven number of teams, the top seeded team will receive a first round bye.
Gameplay
Teams are playing head to head, with the goalie from one team playing against the shooters from the other team.
Team 1 Goalie vs Team 2 Players
Team 2 Goalie vs Team 1 Players
The home team chooses whether they would like to begin the game on defence or offence.
In the playoffs, the highest seed team receives “home team” status.
Each game starts with a shot from a set distance.
The player must initiate their shot from the set designated area.
U13 (25 feet from net)
U15 (35 feet from net)
U17 (40 feet from net
Pro (40 feet from net)
This shot must hit the net (posts are included in shots on goal).
If the shot misses the net, the defensive team will be awarded an automatic point.
Both the goalie’s skate blades must be touching the crease for this first shot.
Goalies cannot challenge outside of their crease in the white. They must have their feet touch the crease.
After the first shot, players are allowed to make a maximum of one pass until the puck is again shot on goal (posts included).
If a pass is made, the receiving player must shoot it on net. If a second illegal pass is made, the defensive team will be awarded an automatic point.
After each shot on goal, the players are allowed to make a maximum of one pass until a point is scored.
Once a pass is made, if the receiving player takes a shot on goal (hits the goalie or posts), the offensive team is allowed to pass again. If they miss the net, an extra pass is not allowed until they do.
Once the offensive players regain control of the puck on a rebound, they may take no longer than 2-3 seconds to put a shot towards the net (it doesn’t have to hit the net to count, it must be an attempt to score).
If this “shot clock” expires, teams will receive one warning. Any subsequent violations shall result in a point awarded to the goalie’s team.
Round robin games are won by the first team to achieve 7 points.
Playoffs are won by the first team to achieve 10 points, and must have a 2 point lead.
If a game is tied 9-9, the game will continue until a team is up by 2 points. (11-9, 16-14, 20-18, ect).
The teams switch offensive and defensive roles every time the offensive team achieves a point. If the goalie achieves a point, they continue to defend until scored against.
The home team’s goalie always starts in net, while the away team’s players start on offence.

Offense:
A point shall be awarded to the offensive team if they legally score a goal.
